Kathy Tappen started her career in banking, but retired to focus her energy on raising her three children. She wasn't exactly sure how or when she might re-enter the workforce, but felt someday she would.
Around a milestone birthday, Kathy began brainstorming about a concept she hoped would inspire moms. She realized her own kids were growing up too quickly, and she wanted to make sure they didn't outgrow her.
One day, in the wee hours of the morning, Kathy awoke to an idea. She conceived So Cool Mom® - a modern catch phrase which depicts who she aspires to be in the eyes of her children. And that was it, So Cool Mom® was born.
Her trademarked brand is now recognized as today’s hip expression of motherhood.
